Complete Family Payment Agreement by September 15th and Save $150

Now that the marching band season is underway, we must fulfill our financial commitments to ensure that our students experience the best year possible.  Family payments cover only ½ of the annual band budget and we are behind schedule.  The staff and students are hard at work on an incredible show, “Vive la France!”  We need family support through payments and fundraising efforts to cover the costs of meals, transportation, and musical instruction.

Did you know it costs $1,000 to feed the band one meal?

Did you know it costs $1,000 to clean the uniforms after a hot competition day?

Family payments for 2015-2016 are $1,100 and you will save $150 if you complete your agreement by September 15.  After September 15, there is an additional late payment.  If you have questions or concerns, please contact Mr. Smith at chuck.smith@fayette.kyschools.us or 859-396-3311 for a confidential payment arrangement.

Food and Travel for Bourbon County

Cookies
The band loves fresh baked cookies on contest days. If you can bake (or buy) 2 or 3 dozen cookies,  deliver to Stacy Stone a.k.a. ‘The Cookie Lady’ on Saturday morning as you drop off your student.  Due to allergies, please no peanut butter, nuts or sesame seeds.

Meals
Make sure students eat breakfast before practice begins at 8:00am on Saturday morning.  We will be serving lunch, dinner, and a snack. We will have a vegetarian option for those students who have made this request in the past. If your student will not eat meals provided, please send a packed meal for them.  It will be a long day and no one should go hungry.

Want to help serve lunch or dinner?
Stacey Stone will be overseeing lunch at school and could use help serving between 10:30am and 12:30pm. If you can help serve lunch, please contact Stacy at Stone1016@yahoo.com.  In addition, we will need help serving dinner between prelims and finals on Saturday evening.  Please contact Robin at rfeesemd@gmail.com if you are available to help serve dinner at Bourbon County.  Thanks to all!  Robin and Steve

Medications

Students are not permitted to self-medicate prescriptions or over-the-counter medications.

The day prior to each contest drop off all prescription medications in their original containers to the chaperone first aid team by the blue building.  Complete the “Prescription Medication Form” for each prescription and specify on the form the specific dosage instructions.  You can find the form on www.lafayetteband.org under the Downloadable Forms button. Blank forms are also available at the blue building.

If you have any questions you may contact Trish Sprague (sprague@twc.com) or Mike Booth (mikeboothgm@gmail.com).

Uniforms

With the first performance and contest fast approaching,  ask yourself these questions:

Hair – Is it performance-ready? Do you need to get a haircut or practice your up-do?

White shorts — Do you know where they are? Are they clean? Do they still fit? If you didn’t receive shorts the last day of band camp (we ran out of some sizes), see Amy King after rehearsal THIS Wednesday.

Extra band camp shirts — Have you picked yours up?  If not, Amy King will be in the orchestra room THIS Wednesday evening.  If you haven’t paid, please bring your money in an envelope with your name on it.

Marching shoes — Do you know where they are? Are they clean and performance ready?  Is your name in BOTH shoes in permanent marker?

White socks — Do you have at least 2 pairs of clean, long, PLAIN white socks (no stripes, no gray on the heel)?

Gloves — Do you know which kind of gloves you need? If you don’t know which kind to get, ask your section leader.  The day of the first football game, please remember to bring money to purchase gloves if you need them.  Grip are $6 and non-grip are $5.
