Family Payments Matter for Every Student

As we begin planning for the 2016-17 band year, all LBA families must understand that the family payments form the backbone of all band activities and our budget.  Fundraising and Bingo are important but they cannot replace the funds provided by the family payments.

It is important that every family be responsible and meet financial obligations.  The lack of family payments has resulted in difficult situations for our musical instructors – we are not able to make timely payments and several have left to find employment elsewhere.  This has a negative impact on the musical instruction provided by Lafayette and our students’ growth as musicians.

The unpaid expenses from this year will need to carry-forward into the budget for the 2016-17 year.  Family Payments matter!  For our students to have the best possible band and musical experience at Lafayette, families need to meet their basic financial obligation.  If needed, please contact Mr. Smith at 859-396-3311 or chuck.smith@fayette.kyschools.us for a confidential conversation about a payment arrangement – he is more than willing to work with you and your circumstances.

Let’s finish this year strong – both musically and financially!

Discount Card Volunteers Needed

The Lafayette Band Discount Card is the band’s most profitable and easy to sell fundraiser.  We need a few parent volunteers to help contact current and new discount card businesses.

If you are available from 2-4pm at least one day a week to contact businesses or would like more information, please contact Mike Booth (mikeboothgm@gmail.com) or Kay Warner (warner272@gmail.com).

A Good Week at Bingo

Thank you to the awesome volunteers who took time to work Bingo this week – it was a very good week financially!  Many thanks to everyone who sold pulltabs and worked skilled positions this week.

Let’s keep this momentum going!!  Please volunteer at Bingo – your participation truly makes a difference and earns a profit for the band.  The more pulltab sellers we have each evening, the greater the profit.

Please come and help the band for a couple of hours on Tuesday or Thursday evening, especially between 6pm and 8pm.  No experience necessary.  Join us at the Bluegrass Bingo Center as we raise money for the band.

Wish List – Items to Donate

Here are some items needed for the band room: Pencils, Tissues, Paper Towels, and Clorox Wipes.  Donations are appreciated – Thank you!
