In addition, our new spring fundraiser will kick-off on February 13 and 14.  Students will receive information and sales flyers during band class for beautiful spring flowers and cookie dough/sweet treats.  Each student will be asked to sell at least 10 items.

District Honor Bands and Jazz Bands

Congratulations to the 54 students selected to the District Honor Bands and the 14 students selected to the District Jazz Bands!  Lafayette will be well represented at the District 7 events.  The Honor Band rehearsals will be at Bryan Station High School on Thursday, March 9, Friday, March 10 and Saturday, March 11.  The Jazz Band rehearsals will be at Henry Clay High School on Thursday, March 16, Friday, March 17, and Saturday, March 18.

Students need to bring $30 cash or check (payable to LBA) to Mr. Bishop in order to receive their District Honors Band music folders.

FCPS District Science Fair

For many years Kentucky American Water has sponsored the FCPS District Science Fair and for many years the LBA has helped with setup and tear down in exchange for a donation from Kentucky American.  This year the fair is at Bryan Station High on February 11th (the same weekend as All-state).

Kentucky American needs help with setup starting at 4:30pm on Friday the 10th and tear down around 3:45pm on Saturday the 11th

If you are not familiar with this event, it’s not hard work, just a lot of it.  It’s mostly setting up tables and chairs — lots of tables and chairs!  So, the more help we can get the faster it will go.  This is a great opportunity for band families to come out and do community service together.  Please contact Matt King (matt@bleedsblue.com) if you are available to help either day or need additional information.

Fruit and Wreath Fundraiser

There are 5 students who have not returned the payments collected for their Fruit and Wreath orders. Please contact Crystal Taylor (859-351-7522) to make arrangements to turn in all remaining money collected.

A tax deductible “In lieu of” payment of $50 can be made to ensure LBA maintains budgetary responsibilities and commitments.

Family Payment Agreements

PLEASE NOTE: Family payments form the basis of the annual budget.  Our instructors and staff rely on us for their earned pay.  However, we are unable to provide payment to these individuals due to many families who have not completed the agreement.

Family payments for 2016-2017 are $1,100 and were due in August – or an additional late payment of $150 for the “deferred payment schedule” was added per the payment agreement. All payments should have been completed by November 15, 2016.

For those who have not paid, or are behind in their payments, please be responsible – others are relying on you.  If you have questions or concerns, please contact Mr. Smith at chuck.smith@fayette.kyschools.us or 859-396-3311 for a confidential payment arrangement.

Charms Database

The Lafayette Band uses Charms, a web-based organizational software system to track student contact information, financial statements, email communication, and more.

To log into Charms, go to www.charmsoffice.com.  Click “Enter” on the top menu and click “Parents/Students/Members” on the dropdown list.  Login using the school code “lhsband” and enter your student ID/password.  If you need your student ID, please contact Liz Booth at lafayettebandaccounts@gmail.com. The student ID is assigned by Charms and is a combination of letters and numbers.

If your student has an outstanding balance, you will receive a monthly financial statement.  The monthly payments will be billed individually in the Fixed Payment ledger.  Amounts received that are less than the billed fixed payment amount will be temporarily stored in the Miscellaneous ledger.  When the amount in the Miscellaneous ledger is sufficient to pay a monthly payments, we can transfer the amount to the appropriate fixed payment.

Band payments may be paid by cash, check, credit card or money order.  Checks and money orders should be made payable to “LBA” (please note the student’s name) and mail to:
