Welcome new families to the Lafayette Band Family!  We look forward to meeting you and answering your many questions. There will be a New Parent Orientation Meeting on July 14 from 6:00pm – 7:00pm (during the Big Brother/Big Sister Picnic).  This will be an opportunity to meet the band staff and crew leaders, learn about the fall schedule and what to expect this year and receive answers to all of your band questions.  We will meet in the cafeteria. If you have any questions, please contact Tricia SirLouis at triciasirlouis@gmail.com or 859-285-9349.

Lafayette Band Parent Performance and Silent Auction Donations

The 2016 Lafayette Band Parent Performance and Silent Auction will be on Friday evening, August 5.  The Silent Auction includes many great items and door prizes!  We know many of our parents are talented and crafty!  If you are able to make and donate a custom item or would like to donate a business product, it would be much appreciated.  Please contact Carole Howell  or 859-420-7845 with donations or questions.

Complete the Summer To-Do List

Here is a list of the items to be completed this summer:

·         Join the Lafayette Band Association (required to volunteer)

·         Submit to a new or update your current FCPS Background Check (required to volunteer)

·         Schedule your student for a KHSAA (Sports) Physical (return completed form prior to band camp)

·         Complete and return the LBA Medical Authorization Form and the Over-the-Counter Medication Authorization Form (return prior to band camp)

·         Volunteer at Bingo (Tuesday or Thursday)

BINGO–Volunteers Needed Now

Volunteer Sign-Up

Bingo needs your help!  The financial success of Bingo depends on parent volunteers. Several pull tab sellers are needed every Tuesday and Thursday – the bingo patrons want to give us their money by purchasing pull tabs!  (And the more volunteers we have makes it easier and more fun for all!)

In addition, we need to fill several “trained” positions (sell paper, sell computers, caller, payout, and back room). These positions are necessary to operate Bingo and there are openings due to graduating parents.  This is a great opportunity to become involved.

We ask that each family volunteer 12 times per year at Bingo.  Please find a Tuesday or Thursday this month and come to the Bingo Hall in Keithshire Shopping Center at 6:00 pm.  You will meet some great parents and support the band’s fundraising efforts.

Click here to sign-up or send email to lafayettebandbingo@gmail.com.

Lafayette Band Invitational – 9/17/2016

The Lafayette Band will be hosting an Invitational Band Contest right here at our stadium!  Ads are currently being sold for the invitational program, so if you know of or have a business and would like to place an advertisement, please contact Carole Howell.  “Spotlight” forms to recognize your band student will be available at the LBA Parent meeting in July.  Contact Carole Howell for details.

Student Annual Physical and KHSAA Form

Download KHSAA Form

Make an appointment now with your child’s physician to get a yearly physical. Have the physician complete and sign the KHSAA Physical Form and send it with your student on the first day of band camp. It is a good idea to take a blank KSHAA Form with you since not all physicians keep blank forms on file.

If your student had a physical last year after July just make arrangements for a new physical as soon as possible at the one year date.

Kroger Community Rewards Card

Kroger is offering 4x Fuel Points when you purchase gift cards at Kroger.  In addition, you can earn 2x Fuel Points when you shop on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.  Register and use your Kroger Community Rewards Card to support the Lafayette Band and save money on fuel purchases.  Click here for instructions on registering your Kroger card.

All Volunteers

Fayette County Public Schools requires a background check for anyone who volunteers in or with the schools.  Please submit to a new background check or verify the date on your current background check by clicking on this link.  Please complete the background check prior to the start of band camp.  This must be completed in order to volunteer in any capacity with the band (e.g., serve meal at band camp, field crew, uniform crew, etc.). Contact Brenda Boggs at bsbboggs@yahoo.com with any questions.

Band Store Apparel

The Band Store is taking orders for customized and personalized clothing.  Several designs have been created for the Lafayette Band and there are many items available such as shirts, polo shirts, sweatshirts, ¼ zips, hats, scarves, and rain jackets.  The order form is available online and you can view color photographs of the designs, apparel, and fabric choices.  The possibilities are endless – choose a design, fabric, clothing item, monogram, etc.  You can be creative with the designs or simply choose to monogram an item.  Please share the order form with friends and relatives.  Due to the personalized nature, all items must be prepaid.  If you have any questions, please contact Stacey Haymes at 859-552-6108 or haymes@twc.comThe deadline to order is June 30.  Mail your order form and payment to:
