As announced by the LHS PTSA, there will be a special election for one parent representative to the Lafayette SBDM Council.  The Lafayette Band Association is very fortunate to have two members running the for Site Based Decision Making (SBDM) Council – Ben Boggs and Patrice Perlman.  Please click on the candidate’s name to view their Bio, as posted on the Lafayette home page.

The voting will take place on Monday, May 9th at 6:30pm in the Lafayette Library at the PTSA General Membership meeting.    Please take a few minutes out of your busy day to vote!  This is to choose the person who will represent the parent voice for the 2016-17 school year and it would be great for the Lafayette Band to be represented.

Mike Booth will meet with interested parents at the blue building in the back left corner of the band field this Saturday during mini-camp anytime between 9:00 and 11:30. PTSA Fundraiser for the Courtyard

Lafayette PTSA is working to spruce up the courtyard, located outside of Lafayette Café. We are asking for your help with this project.  Currently the courtyard has 3, dilapidated picnic tables. It is rarely used and rather uninviting. PTSA wishes to purchase several new industrial, metal picnic tables that will not only improve the look, but the function of the courtyard as well. Once the tables are installed, the area will lend itself as an outdoor classroom/study area as well as an outdoor dining area. We are also hoping to raise enough funds to donate $500 to the art department so that supplies may be purchased for student generated art projects to display around the courtyard.

Lafayette PTSA has not held a fundraiser for several years. Instead, operating on a tight budget, with income generated from membership fees and selling vinyl decals. We have set up a GoFundMe page to generate funds for this project and we hope that your family will make a donation. Any amount is greatly appreciated! Amazingly those $1, $5, $20 donations quickly add up to make for a sizable gift.

Please check out our GoFundMe page and consider making a donation today!

As always, please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for your continued support of Lafayette PTSA!

Kindly,
Paige W. Kikuchi
