The 2015 Lafayette Band Banquet and Honors Ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, May 3rd, at1:00 p.m., at Calvary Baptist Church Fellowship Hall (150 East High Street). We will celebrate another awesome year of Lafayette Band, bid farewell and pay special tribute to our seniors, and recognize the underclassmen with their well-earned “letters and bars”.

This year, our banquet is being sponsored in part and will be catered by Fazoli’s. We truly appreciate their support of our event.

We invite all Lafayette Band families to the lunch that includes: Your choice of pasta and sauce, salad, breadsticks, dessert and beverage. All for only $8.00 per person. Our graduating seniors will be our guests for this event and are invited to attend free of charge, compliments of the Lafayette Band Association.

Check-in begins at 1:00 p.m., with lunch served shortly after check-in.

Please register if you plan on attending.  Registration will close midnight Friday, May 1st

Pre-order your 2014-15 Memory Book and DVD now by downloading this form.  The Memory Book as designed by band parent and photographer, Richard Bashore and includes 60 color pages for $20.  The DVD is produced by Box 5 and is $40.  Order forms and payment must be received by Karen Akel no later than April 30.  Watch e-news for distribution dates and times.  For more information, contact Karen Akel at Karen.Akel@fayette.kyschools.us.

WHAT: 2014-15 Spring Raffle for a $10,000 Cash Prize!

WHO: All Lafayette Band families are asked to sell 25 tickets to make this successful and profitable!  Band payments cover only a portion of the expenses of this championship program.  Fundraising profits pay for uniforms, instruments, band camp instructors, travel/food/lodging at competitions, and much more!

WHEN: Raffle chances have been distributed to students.  Final turn-in date is May 11. All tickets (SOLD and UNSOLD) must be returned.

WHERE: The drawing for the $10,000 Grand Prize will take place at the Spring Concert on Wednesday, May 20 at the UK Singletary Center for the Arts.

NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION FOR LAFAYETTE SBDM

 NOMINATION FORM

 

TO: All Lafayette High School parents and parents of incoming freshmen.

The Lafayette High School (LHS) PTSA will hold a special election for parent members to the LHS School Based Decision Making (SBDM) Council.

WHEN:  May 11th, 2015 during the Lafayette High School PTSA General Membership meeting at 6:30 PM.

WHERE: The LHS Library

INFORMATION ON SBDM SCHOOL COUNCILS

What is the school council?

The council is the governing body for this school. It determines school policy for curriculum, staffing, discipline, scheduling, instructional practices, extra-curricular activities and other matters pertinent to the operation of the school. The council meets monthly.

Who serves on the council?

4 parents, 6 teachers and staff, and 2 school administrators.

Why is there a special supplemental election?

The PTSA held elections for the three nominees on April 17th and 18th, 2015 however 4 parents are required to serve on LHS SBDM. Therefore, a special election for one (1) SBDM representative will held during the LHS PTSA General Membership meeting.
