FIRST TIME MARCHER REMINDER

 

Note the dates and times (above) of both the first time marchers and the mini-camp this week. Be sure to wear sneakers and dress for the elements.

 

2015-2016 PAYMENT PLANS

 

You should have received your 2015-2016 Lafayette Band Payment Plan Agreement in the mail this past week. Please complete the form a.s.a.p. and mail it back so we can build our database for the upcoming year.

 

 SPRING RAFFLE

DOWNLOAD THE HANDOUT

Raffle tickets will be distributed in the student parking lot on Monday, April 6 from 3:20 – 4:30 AND 5:45 – 6:15pm.  Look for Carole Howell and the Raffle sign!  Students can also turn in sold tickets!  Any student who has sold 25 tickets will be entered in a drawing to win a candy prize!

WHAT

2014-15 Spring Raffle for a $10,000 Cash Prize!

WHO

All Lafayette Band families are asked to sell 25 tickets to make this successful and profitable!  Band payments cover only a portion of the expenses of this championship program.  Fundraising profits pay for uniforms, instruments, band camp instructors, travel/food/lodging at competitions, and much more!

WHEN

Raffle chances will be distributed to students on March 26 & 27. Final turn-in date is May 11. All tickets (SOLD and UNSOLD) must be returned.

WHERE

The drawing for the $10,000 Grand Prize will take place at the Spring Concert on Wednesday, May 20 at the UK Singletary Center for the Arts.

·         Wind Symphony Percussion/Tubas will help load the trucks with equipment

·         Remember to bring black concert shoes, black long socks, shorts, and T-Shirt to wear under your uniform

·         Concert at Singletary Center for the Arts is free and open to the public

 

 

DCI FINALS GROUP TICKET ORDER

 

 

We anticipate many current and former Lafayette Band Students marching in Drum Corp International (DCI) Finals on Saturday, August 8 in Indianapolis.

A group ticket order for those interested in participating will be placed on Monday, April 27.  

·         Tickets are $27 each.  (This same ticket will cost around $90 if purchased through Ticketmaster.)

·         We are expecting to sit in sections 143-144 which is the same as last year.

·         Everyone is responsible for their own transportation.

·         Extra tickets will not be ordered. Tickets will be ordered for money that is received.

2015-2016 BOARD OF DIRECTOR NOMINEES

 

The nominees (click here to download) for the 2015-16 Board of Directors were presented at the March 9 LBA Parent meeting. An invitation for nominations from the floor was extended and no new nominees were submitted. The election will be held at the April LBA Parent meeting. Pre-order your 2014-15 Memory Book and DVD now by downloading this form.  The Memory Book as designed by band parent and photographer, Richard Bashore and includes 60 color pages for $20.  The DVD is produced by Box 5 and is $40.  Order forms and payment must be received by Karen Akel no later than April 30.  Watch e-news for distribution dates and times.  For more information, contact Karen Akel at Karen.Akel@fayette.kyschools.us.
